A Chant in the Woods

Under the Cicadas’ Spell

I walk mesmerized
by murmurings
a chant in the woods
an arrival: OM ॐ

the sweet singing
of orange-eyed cicadas:
I am transported from the trail
as the vibration carries me
beyond my crown
