Confessions of a Screen Junkie
What should I watch next?
When I was a kid, I would binge watch cartoons on Saturday mornings. I would not miss The Smurfs nor Dungeons and Dragons (the show), and I remember my mom getting mad at me for watching Loony Tunes for hours. “It’s so violent!” she yelled.
Lately, I am no stranger to screen-time abuse. All of this time at home has given me permission (an excuse) to get through every season of The Office (American version) again and Gilmore Girls again.
Then there’s been Shitt’s Creek, Dead to Me, Dark, Working Moms, Parks and Rec, New Girl, The Handmaid’s Tale. Add in a few documentaries too.
There is so much genius in these series. Television is art. And I am a serious collector. There is no shortage of shows to watch.
I would like to hear from you about other binge-worthy shows! What are the shows that might make me late for work? Which ones do you suggest that will make my brain explode or laugh out loud and call my sister?
Monday, I go back to work full-time. There won’t be nearly enough time for me to indulge. But that is OK. I grew up having to wait a week before the next episode in a series.
