warmth in southern
January
all days tease
out the daffodils again,
and I also
orbit this way
a little too early
and a little too late

I am reminded
today, by some angle
of shadow
in the bright afternoon

the honeysuckle
on the tip of your
tongue and I thought
I could get used
to you

just as you
drifted away
